How to Play Blackjack on Casino Sites

One of the most popular games on any online casino site is Blackjack (a.k.a. 21). Blackjack is a simple card game where you play against the dealer. The goal is to hit a total of 21 points or close to 21 on your hand. The winner is who has 21 (Blackjack) or has more points than the other. So if you hit 19 and the dealer’s hand is 17 or even busted, you’re the winner. If you or the dealer go more than 21, it’s a lost hand. The game begins with the dealer giving two cards to the player and two to himself. Player cards are faced up but only one of the dealer’s cards is faced up. The points for each card are easy to remember:

• Two through Ten have their face value
• Jack, Queen, and Kind are valued at 10 points

The goal here is to reach either 21 or close to that. When the game begins, after the dealer dealt your cards, you can decide either to get more cards (Hit), get only one card and double the bet (Double), stop and hand the turn to the dealer (Stand) or play with two hands if your initial two cards are of the same value (Split). There is also insurance involved in the game but it’s highly recommended not to take it since it almost always results in a loss.

When your turn ends, the dealer begins to add more cards to his hands. Based on rules in most online casinos, dealers must draw to at least 16 and stand on 17. if the dealer goes above 21, he will lose, of course. After that, the winners will be determined by the value of their hands.
